One of the skills I learned from designing a website is how to use the Weebly website to create my own website. Through this site I learned how to add buttons, webpages, and how to link other websites onto my website. All of the skills learned from this assignment can be applied to any career that I am pursue. Having a website can be great for teaching, or any other business because it helps keep people informed. I general, the information and skills learned through this assignment can be helpful in lots of careers, and they were not hard skills to learn, but they do take practice. This is my website that I made for this assignment.

I had never worked with Diigo before this class, but have learned a lot of new skills using it. This website can be helpful in sharing resources with students, especially since they could also add their own research websites to the class page. This could be especially helpful in a career setting with multiple people working together, so it could be used in teaching between coworkers. When being used this way, this could be helpful for sending resources to everyone and allowing for others to see what information is especially important by sticky notes and highlights within it. Overall, if you are working with students or coworkers that all need collaboration, this website is an easy way to do this. It is especially helpful with all of the tools that come along with it.

Padlet is something that I have never used before since I have never made a portfolio. This website is very easy to navigate so it was somewhat enjoyable to use. I think I learned what a portfolio may be used for using Padlet, and what a portfolio may look like. But, I do not think I am going to use Padlet in the future, just because I do not have a purpose of having a portfolio. I also think social media has become somewhat of a portfolio, because it is super easy to use and can be used by simply looking up. a person or business. So I think using some sort of social media as a portfolio if I need to make one may be the easier route.

Since teachers are the driving force of innovation of technology, this means that we have to stay informed ourselves to try and drive that innovation. Technology is increasingly important within all aspects of our society but in teaching, technology can be used for many different purposes. Teacher professional development is continuing to educate ourselves to further our understanding, which in turn can help students. Technology plays a big role in this because we have to continue to further our understanding of new technology so that useful forms of technology can be implemented into classrooms. One website to keep teachers updated on innovative teaching technology is Tech & Learning. This is a resource that offers recent news regarding technology in classrooms. This information is meant to be used by teachers to see if the new technology may be helpful for their classrooms.
