My experience in EME2040 has been in a virtual class. Overall my classroom experience is that I have learned a lot through this especially about ways in which technology can be used in a classroom. I think this class would have been easier in a hybrid or in person just to be able to easily ask questions about assignments, but I think it is not necessary since this class can be taught virtually. To be able to improve my experience in the classroom I think I am only going to teach in either a typical classroom setting or in a hybrid setting because it allows for easier access for help. Also if I were to teach a virtual class I think I would have a zoom option to ask questions for those who made need the extra help.
Open Educational Resources are resources that are open to be used in different ways. Depending on how they are licensed OER's can be used in different ways they can be retained, reused, revised, remixed, and redistributed. OER's can be very helpful in classrooms because they are resources that can be used by anyone without worrying about getting permission to use it. This resource is an website explaining more in depth what OER's are and other facts about them. This website also goes over the 5 R's again and explains the some of the differences between open and free resources.
I have learned a few new skills from the PowerPoint assignment but it really reinforced the skills I already know how to use in PowerPoint. I did not know how to do the PowerPoint video before this assignment, so this was a new skill that I learned. I think this is a very helpful skill especially for if I ever did virtual teaching. I don't love that I just had to pick a random topic for this assignment because it was just kind of strange to make a PowerPoint that did not have much of a purpose.
