ELA standards are a broad set of standards used in classrooms that they consist of not only reading and writing, they are in all different subjects. The standards currently are showing how technology is used based on how complex language is. The standard I chose was from the second grade list and the standard is being able describe details and key ideas from a someone reading out loud to them, or other form of media (LAFS.2.SL.1.2). I do feel equipped to be able to teach this standard, because I frequently read and ask questions about the readings with my preschoolers, so I have lots of practice with this. Also, there is resources given to help better understand how to implement this standard into a second grade classroom. So if I have questions or concerns I can use the information there to help facilitate how to go about teaching this standard.

From CPALMS the resource I found was an interactive website for second grade english. This resource is teaching students how to use context clues by taking them through an interactive lesson with a penguin who is in trouble, and needs the students help. This lesson is meant to work on two of the ELA standards for second grade, which are using context clues and using picture clues to determine the meaning of unknown words. In my classroom, I could put this on the projector and we could answer the questions and go through the lesson as a class. But it could also be assigned as a homework assignment since it is a guided resource that does not need to be complete at school to get the information needed. Overall, I think I would use this a supplementary resource to a lesson plan to allow for more understanding by allowing the students to play a fun game.

It is important to be a proficient internet searcher as a teacher due to the idea that information is not just for you, but also for your students. A teacher needs to be able to find internet sources that are creditable without having to search for hours looking for one. Based off the internet searches I had to complete this week, I think the skill of using different search engines to find very specific things will be used often for me. I was unaware of these search engines before because Google is the main one I use, but Google Scholar is a lot better way to search for information that is much more creditable and accurate. In a few of my classes I have been taught how to use quotes, and other things just into the search bar to be able to narrow down searches. But I think using one of the websites we went over is more helpful because you can even narrow down file types.
