The typical things seen on a teacher page of a schools website seem to be about me sections, and other resources helpful to students. There is typically a set of announcements and even some of them have assignment on them. Important documents may also be displayed which include school supply list, field trip forms and other documents that parents may need to access. Overall the public information is brief but gives the students and parents everything them may need before they start the school year. The link to the website I used for this assignment is Ms. Bonnell's Class Page and a picture of her website can be seen below.

I think there are a lot of tools that can be used to make teaching easier and more effective. Some of these technology tools may be something like a virtual grade book. Canvas and other similar sites allow for teachers to post actual assignments, and allow for them to enter grades and the website will be able to calculate the overall grade. This technology is super helpful, because instead of trying to calculate grades by hand for each student, once the grades are entered it does the math for you. I could also use education videos and online games within my classroom. These are great technology based resources to supplement the important information being taught.

The Wiki platform for creating my website was somewhat confusing at first. After some trial and error, I began to understand how to use it, but it would take a decent amount of time to set up with all of the actual information for a real classroom. I also had a huge hurdle when I published my website. Once my website was published, I went to go view it and it would not let me view it without turning off my protective software on my computer, since I did not have the paid version of Weebly. I could use a Wiki page for a page on a school website, but I think that would be the only use for it in my classroom. It would be hard to keep it up to date with new information, whereas if we used something such as Canvas to show assignments, the website would not really need to be used then.

Here is an example of a teacher website.
